Day 2 & 3, Gold Hill to San Francisco
We arrived in San Francisco about midnight on Thursday night. The drive from Dylan’s parents in Gold Hill to San Francisco took about 10 hours, a little longer then we expected and travel was slow through the mountains of Northern Cali. The drive into the city was a little hectic with lots of fast moving traffic and bad roads so we were bouncing around quite a bit and almost flipped the damn truck at one point we were rocking so bad. We are staying at Dylan’s sister’s place in the city and are trying to decide whether to stay another day or two because… well it’s San Francisco, need I say more. The weather is perfect again and yesterday we got out and roamed around the city a bit. The pictures from the last 2 days are up online in the photography gallery. This weekend is also the Folsom Street fair so we are trying to decide whether to stick around for that. The Folsom Street Fair, for those unfamiliar with it, is another gay festival similar to pride only for the leather daddy crowd. It’s a very edgy and risque event and to say that it brings out all the freaks is putting it mildly. It is defnitely NOT our scene (don’t get nervous Mom) but none-the-less, everyone says it is a must see event once in your lifetime. It would certiainly be a kodak moment. Our dilema is that we are scheduled to have the truck turned into the Budget truck rental place in San Diego on Monday morning so unless we extend a day or two, we won’t have enough time to do leather sunday and still be able to drive and unload the truck. We have A LOT to do when we get to SD so we’re leaning on skipping the Folsom Street Fair. If we stay then I’m sure the photography gallery will be interesting… there is a fine line between Drama and Trauma
I’m going to try and post more frequent updates but it’s been difficult to get a high-speed internet connection and posting pictures isn’t really efficient using my pocket pc phone. Today though we were able to walk down to an internet cafe and sit for awhile and get some work done.
Check out the new photos in the gallery. I’m trying to keep the captions informative.
