Tech Trends
I’ve decided to start a new Blog category called Tech Trends – a sort of Zeitgiest of technology.
ZeitĀ·geist :: The spirit of the time; the general intellectual and moral state or temper characteristic of any period of time.
There is a Category section on the right side where you can quickly navigate to new entries under Tech Trends.
I thought a new category would be fun for several reasons. I consider myself pretty technologically aware and I tend to stay pretty up to date on the latest trends and so I thought it would be cool to have a place to share and comment on interesting things I run across. There is also somewhat of a self-serving motive behind it as well, which I will discuss in more detail at a later time, but mostly has to do with search engines and how they index web sites across the internet. Search engines are completely hungry for fresh content and because Blogs are updated almost continuously, they get indexed very very quickly by search engines. It’s the latest craze in the search engine optimization and marketing business. I try to stay pretty current on the lastest SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques, and although I’m no expert, I have quite a bit of experience with it. So, for now suffice it to say that by writing fresh intriguing content about various tech related topics, I will bait the search engines to index my site regularly. I know that sounds somewhat selfish, but I promise the information I pass on will be useful and fun… such as Google’s new Desktop Search tool that indexes your entire hard-drive and then includes relevant information stored on your computer along with results from the web when you do a normal Google search. It’s amazing and creepy at the same time. So in my next post I’ll begin to discuss that and more, such as RSS (Really Simple Syndication), Search Engine Optimization techniques, and the new mobile smartphones.
Stay tuned!
