October 2004

I’ve been slacking off on keeping this up-to-date. We finally got internet turned on in the apartment on Monday so it’s been nice to dig in and get some real work done. Of course that also means I can once again spend hours upon hours wasting time surfing across useless websites. It’s amazing how you can start off doing research on cycling paths in San Diego and end up 20 minutes later looking at the latest biking shoes on Nike.com. LOL

This weekend we got out to some of the beaches and took a few photos. I’ve created a new photography gallery for any new San Diego pictures since my move is officially complete now I guess. We ventured up to the beaches north of La Jolla and also down to Ocean Beach where they have the longest pier in North America, so they say. We drove around to Point Loma which is out on the peninsula to the west of downtown, and creates the ocean side of San Diego harbor on the Pacific. It has the first lighthouse up on the hill, which made for some great photos.

I still have to get out and take a few pictures of the new apartment and neighborhood. One of these days….

Check out the latest pictures in the San Diego gallery.

I turned 34 yesterday. Doesn’t seem possible… I feel like I just turned like 24 last year. Things are going good so far. The only real glitch we’ve run into is that our internet connection at the house got delayed until Monday so that means 3 more days of trying to work in the coffee shop down the street. Our internet connection was supposed to be turned on yesterday but the cable company told us they couldn’t get into the building to turn it on so it was rescheduled. Working in the coffee shop isn’t bad but it’s just a pain to do web work and catch up on all my little to-do’s on a laptop. We worked at the local Starbucks for the first few days but ran across a great little independent coffee house called The Living Room, just a few blocks away. It has free wireless internet and lots of couches and really good coffee.
