LA, Laguna and Long Beach Pride
This was roadtrip weekend. It was long, tiring and a lot of fun. On Saturday, Dylan, Tyler and I jumped in the car and headed up to LA for a night out on the town in West Hollywood. We hit The Abbey and a few other bars, the names of which I don’t recall. It was fun with the exception of the pretentious LA crowd. I mean that in the sincerest way. I’m sure they are very nice and they are certainly well put together but on the whole, they just seem to be out at the bars to be looked at. This isn’t really a surprise. I’ve been to LA before and everybody knows the deal. It’s just that the guys there are completely different then the ones you find in San Diego. In LA they just sort of position themselves in the bar and try to look good and don’t really talk to anyone. In San Diego, everyone says hi to everyone and it’s a very relaxed and laid back scene. LA is just a bunch of walking resumes. But I still love it.
On Sunday we drove back south to Laguna to stop by a friend’s house who was having a college graduation party at his parent’s place. He is Latino (Mexican) so there was tons of family, food, drinks, tequilla and a mariachi band, no shit. We stayed there for a few hours and then headed back north a bit to hit Long Beach pride, the first one of the season. That was a ton of fun. It was a lot bigger then we expected. It was right on the water and the weather was perfect, about 72 degrees. The DJ’s were great and it was relaxing and fun just dancing outside all night. We hit the road again at about 10pm and headed south, home to San Diego. It was a great weekend. The nice thing about southern California is that you can hit several really great cities like LA, Long Beach, Laguna and San Diego all in one day, driving with good music and the windows down. There’s nothing like a sunburn on your driving arm.
I posted a few pictures below.

Dylan, Me and our friend Jesse. (not sure what’s going on there with my hips.)
DJ Orion - some really good music.
Our friend Rudy from Las Vegas on the right. I don’t remember the name of his friend with the camera.

The crowd. This was just one of several stages with a DJ.
