I don’t usually post stuff like this… I’m too shy (lol) but with all of the fanfare around the World Cup recently, I’ve found myself suddenly becoming a soccer fan… especially of the Spain and Brazil teams. How can you not appreciate this sport when you have players like Spain’s Forward Fernando Torres.

Here are a few more of the Brazil team…(at least I’ve been told they are members of the Brazil team).

There are a few more pictures below… GAME ON!

As a wrap-up to my 50Prime365.com project, I figured I’d make a little thumbnail image view of the entire year (or rather the 279 days that I actually managed to complete)
I’m not sure what future projects I might embark upon, but for now I’m going to leave the self-portrait project intact and online at 50Prime365.com.

There is a flurry of activity online, in the news and on blogs, surrounding the President’s new push to ban gay marriage. Some of the discussion is turning out to be quite interesting and there is a consensus growing that President Bush, as unpopular as he is, might actually be helping to push former opponents of gay marriage over to the other side. It’s sort of that guilty by association rule… when someone you are not a fan of, supports something you are neutral on, you automatically take the opposite point of view. So people are beginning to say, well hell, Bush has screwed up on so many things that I don’t support him on, he must be wrong on this one too.
Andrew Sullivan has some great posts from the last few days of debate. One particular post is about the hugely conservative Fox News and the discussion on gay marriage over there.
“What we have here is a too obvious political play that unfortunately scapegoats a minority as a means to gather votes. This is unkind, manipulative and divisive. My wife and I are Christians. We are not remotely confused abut our own marriage. Are we supposed to care about this because some other Christians are offended? Does this really threaten traditional marriage? Are there truly couples in traditional marriages who are personally confused and threatened by this? Fear not! We know two women who both earlier had children from a traditional marriage. They later lived with one another. They’ve also made sure their children have male influences. Why not let them and all their children have health insurance benefits and no extra problems? I say this to President Bush: We as a nation ought not impose particular religious beliefs on strangers doing no harm in the name of gathering votes.” - reposted from Andrew Sullivan
Others have equated it to a drowning swimmer pulling down the good swimmer who tries to rescue him. Bush has legitimized the issue to the world.

My roommates (Dylan & Tyler) and our friend Jason all took off to sunny Palm Springs this weekend. It was incredibly fun and relaxing. Palm Springs is completely desert so the temperature during the day was a steamy 115 degrees. Yeah, blistering hot, but we were staying with a friend who had a beautiful new home with a nice pool and hottub so we were able to hide from the heat in the water
The nights were clear and balmy around 80 degrees. There’s nothing like floating the day away in a pool with a refreshing margarita! And of course, a very big thanks to our host Ron… it was awesome.
I posted a few pics on my Flickr account… click here or the pic below to view them.

So this is very bizzare… my brother pointed this out to me the other day. This website called The Uber-Review has a post about dancing cell phones and the photo they decided to use for the post is a picture of me! The photo is one I did for my old self-portrait-a-day project at 50prime365.com. While I guess it’s flattering that they would use a picture of me and one that I took, it’s also slightly annoying since there’s no link back to my site or even a simple photo credit to me as the photographer. It seems it would be a common courtesy especially since my photos are clearly not public stock images.
