My roommate Tyler is a PHD student at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla and every few weeks on Friday night, the students have a sunset keg social down by the pier. This month they were celebrating the opening of a newly constructed student center. It was beautiful and the view is amazing. The Scripps Institute (now affiliated with UCSD) was opened in the early 1900’s and still has claim over some of the most expensive coastal property in southern California.

Here are a few pics I took with my iPhone as the sun said goodbye to Friday the 13th. These were taken from the outside deck of the new buildings. Nothing like a California sunset.
